Resources for aspiring authors

These are a few of the resources I subscribe to as an aspiring author. They have helped me grow as a writer and have taught me so much about writing itself and the business side of my author platform.

If you're an aspiring author like me, you probably follow a lot of writers and authors to see how they do things. I know I do. I'm constantly on the prowl for ideas, suggestions, road maps, new content, etc. etc. etc.

There are a few writers and authors that I subscribe to that I get a lot of value from based on what I'm looking for.

Note: I am in no way affiliated with these people or their content. I simply want to share where I have found help along my own journey.

Here are my top choices at the moment:

Sarra Cannon

I've been following Sarra Cannon for the better part of a year now. She is a highly successful indie author of more than 25 young adult books. Between her newsletter, YouTube channel (HeartBreathings), and other platforms, I've learned so much from her! I highly recommend following her!

Kristen Martin

When I first made the decision to go into my writing career full-time, Kristen's website and YouTube channel were the first platforms I found. I was intrigued that she had a good job but eventually chose to leave her full-time corporate career because she was making more money as an indie author and what she calls a "creative entrepreneur." She's doing something right.

Chris Fox

Chris has a lot of great information for writers on his website and YouTube channel. He has several books out, both fiction and non-fiction. I've just started following him but I thought he was a good resource to list because of his fantastic content for writers. You must check him out!

Happy writing!
